My routine has been in flux for the last week. While I am not overly particular about much, I crave the structure and routine that is established with the kids being in school. Each member of Casa Nutmeg has been dealing with and recovering from some sort of cold or stomach bug for a week. Add to that no school or delayed openings due to snow, and now the kids have a few days off for a February vacation and we’re just all out of sorts. Being cooped up with cabin fever certainly doesn’t help either, it’s ridiculously cold out there. Bring on the coffee – keep me going, keep me warm, and in the fabulous words of Lorelai Gilmore:
My love of the Gilmore Girls runs deep. I can identify with the small-town Connecticut setting, many of the characters on the show, and my daughter is named after Lorelai. One of my favorite, most-used knitting bags is one a good friend bought me inspired by the knitting episode:
The lovely skein of yarn on top of the bag is my first skein from the Gilmore Girls Yarn Club by Spartickes Dyes. Each month you get to pick between two quotes from the Gilmore Girls show – this one is “I need a coffee in an IV.” I totally love it- nice shades of brown to grey with a bit of cream. It is on the Will & Grace Sock yarn base (80/20 superwash merino / nylon). I’m not sure what I will use it for – I don’t have any brown handknit socks anymore…
I can’t stop drinking coffee either! If I stop, I’m pretty sure I would never wake up again. And I love the Gilmore Girls Yarn Club–how clever. Happy knitting to you!
