Call me Countess!

Over the weekend I finished and blocked the Cozy Countess Brioche Cape as part of the Cape KAL with Kraemer Yarns. I’ve only done one other brioche project, a Chromatic Cowl. I’ve impressed myself so much with this cape, that I want to brioche all the things and have added plenty to my queue to do so.

I was hoping for a stylish and fancy picture of me wearing this while walking Lincoln, looking rather elegant, but the weather had other plans. So, it’s a quick pick from my kitchen. Yes, sarcasm is served daily.

While I was soaking this project, I had a brief moment of worry that the red might bleed in the water and impact the grey yarn. Kudos to the Kraemer Yarns team! There was no color bleeding. When I squeezed out the water before rolling it up in a towel, there was a slight tint of pink, but the bulk of the water was colorless.

My kit is for the small/medium size and I made the medium. I’ll have to weigh my leftovers, but I think I have at least half a skein of each color remaining. It also fits Lorelai and looks cuter on her, in my opinion.

This is a fabulously warm project, as Naturally Nazareth is 100% wool. It’s plenty soft and squishy. I’m planning to wear it while working at the computer on chillier days.
