Invisible Points

My favorite online LYS is Eat.Sleep.Knit in Georgia. They coordinate an amazing themed year-long event known as Yarnathon, where you get points and yardage in this virtual race for shopping, completing projects, and other tasks.

This year I am a member of the Lacy Lions and it’s a fairy tale theme! There are quarterly knit-alongs and the first is: Tiny Owl Knits (pick any pattern). My projects are finished!

First, I used Manos del Uruguay Maxima in Foil to knit the Orchids and Fairy Lights hat. The hat is quite roomy – it fit my head but does look better on my daughter. While I am happy with the project – the yarn is great and the hat is soft and warm – I am over knitting bobbles. This hat is in the donation pile as it’s not quite either of our style.

The Garden Gate & Ivy Cowl is my second project for the KAL. I’m pleased with how quickly this worked up. I think it took longer to Kitchener the sides together. I really like how the filigree pattern is on one side and then on the inside there is a pinstripe pattern. Lincoln makes for a good model and can hold steady for a photo when motivated.
