Weekending

Weekends are for memory making, relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
I’m not able to finish out this years Knit & Crochet Blog Week. I suppose I could play catch up, but I would really rather just keep moving forward. I was interrupted by real life happenings – not all of which were good. This week life offline and outside the yarny world needed more of my attention. Baby steps, stitch by stitch, bird by bird and all that.
This weekend, thankfully, has been better than I expected.
  • I visited my niece – she’s still in the hospital following another surgery, but she started to interact more and seemed to enjoy playing with a pinwheel I brought her.
  • I started reading The Yarn Whisperer by Clara Parkes and love it. That woman has a brilliant way with words.
  • A box of yarn arrived for me on Saturday – payment for a sample knitting job and yarn for the next sample knitting job.
  • Saturday’s mail also brought me a kit to make a stitched bamboo pendant necklace. I started and finished that project on Saturday night.
  • I’m having trouble finding skirts to wear this summer. I’ll know it when I see it, until then I’m browsing pinterest and thinking about sewing myself something.
  • (side note, did you see this stitch along at Untangling Knots – knit a sweater / sew a garment to end up with an outfit!)
I’m planning on sharing more details of some of those points in upcoming blog posts, so I hope you’ll check back or click the button below to follow me on Bloglovin! Until then, I hope your weekend is crafty, restful and refreshing!

  1. I hope your niece feels better soon, that is quite stressful! I love when I am offline and do whatever I need to to be happy. Sounds like you had a full weekend 🙂
